This cardinal has spent two days in a row attacking his reflection on the top of my car. He was pecking so hard you could hear it from inside the house and as you can see, made quite a mess. It was really fun to watch tho, and gave a great opportunity to brush up on shooting birds. For this little fella, it took a Shutter Speed of 1000 to keep him clear with just enough motion to make it interesting. A faster shutter would have stopped all motion, but when the fun part of the event IS the motion, I think you want to see it in your photograph. The color of our sad looking brown grass even made a nice blurred background at f5.6. The nicer days and all of the wildlife beginning to come out of hiding makes me excited about getting outside too. I have some photo "goals" for this year that I will work on in my spare time. I hope you have some photo goals too... I'd love to hear about them. Feel free to share. Remember, Keep those batteries charged up and a fresh card in the camera.
