Everything is beautiful...

I am so busted doing the "do as I say, not as I do".  I often tell people to keep their cameras with them but I have missed countless photo opps in the past few days because I didn't have a camera with me.  A few really got to me and I'll just have to remember them in my head until I can learn to draw (never).  I was on the road early the other morning in dense fog...slowly approaching a gorgeous old split rail fence... singled out by the fog and just fading into nowhere. So simple. So beautiful.   argh.  The next day, very early in the a.m. on the same road (do you believe in do overs?) driving in dense fog I look up and see a huge bare tree with crows flying around and above it, all beautifully backlit by the sun trying to burn thru the fog.  In my head I'm thinking it cannot get any better than this and then the crows all land in the branches of that big dead tree...completely singled out by the fog and so striking...  It was an amazing opp, and sadly I missed it.  So this a.m. I sat on my deck  as always with Bear, drinking my coffee, and several fat little sparrows landed on an iron trellis in my yard.  They were surrounded by the morning glories and remaining sweet peas and vines, beautifully backlit and again singled out by that fog we've had every morning.  That's it... I'm going for my camera.  Minutes later I was there,  they were not.  Better late than never is not part of a photographers vocabulary. Period.  This old, prickly bush covered with dew, sparkled as it were filled with diamonds and rubies. It's hard to see in the photograph but the lesson here is "everything is beautiful in it's own way"... you just have to look.Diamonds and RubiesPrickly and plain from a distance.... brilliant and sparkling as you look closer. bw tree copyfbbw tree I just like the look. In the dew of morning, washed and bejeweled, so elegant... just another blade of grass.grassblade Just a blade of grass...
